carry poll

Postby rugersol on Sun Jun 26, 2011 8:43 pm

I was busy admiring my "nightstand poll", thinking it was entirely dedicated to "home defense" (big, heavy, large-caliber gun) ... and then I realized, there was nothing in it specific to any of that ... 'sept maybe the weapon-light.

So ... here ya go ... same kinda deal ... 3 options ... caliber ... gun-type/make ... but instead of sights, how 'bout holsters?

If yer like me, ya got two different rigs ... one fer weddings 'n such ... 'nother fer Allary's 'er thereabouts! :? Pick one, I reckon. I'll go with my Allary's rig! Image

This time, fer "revolver", we'll presume .38spl as good as .357! 8-)

Peut-être, mais mon calibre .45 semble fonctionner très bien.

Wish one could have a 4th option--as when I carry a .45, I'm carrying a 1911; but if I'm carrying a 9mm, it's a P7...

My daily carry is either a Glock 21SF in an MTAC from Comp-Tac or a Taurus 650 .357 snubbie in a Quick Clip from Srigs.

Service size XD-40 in a Sideguard IWB holster. On very, very rare occasions I carry a Kahr CW-40 in a Galco IWB holster.

not a whole lot to say 'bout these numbers ...

1911 falls off a bit (vs. the nightstand poll) ... is that all of the deficit in .45, as well? ... at least part, probly.

over 3-to-1 IWB vs. OWB ... I woulda guessed less ... but maybe "pocket" is some of that ... figure at least half the revolvers are J-frames, and probly in the pocket?

don't know that there's 'nuff numbers to say, but it APPEARS Glock's lost some marketshare ... most likely to the slimmer Kahrs ... they'd probly do well to put out a single-stack 'nother 1/2in narrower than their G36.

Probly woulda done well to split out Sig from the others ... I'd bet most of them're Sigs.

Glock 23/32 depending on the barrel I have in the gun. Generally IWB. OWB mag carrier.

Tried to carry a Kimber ultra carry once, but it never did run like I needed it to for a defensive pistol, so sold it. I think the problem was the the first six letters of the name. :stirthepot: I should have bought one with 4 letters and a horse.
