Remora with M&P

Postby gooseman on Tue Jun 28, 2011 11:41 am

Hi all,
I got my remora holster yesterday and can't begin to describe how much i like it, however there is one thing that bugs me and I wanted to see if anyone else who iwb a M&P compact has this problem. When I sit in the car and get up the mag has been released by the pressure that is put on the switch. My thoughts were to change the side that the mag release is on. Does anyone else have this problem when IWB carrying a M&P compact?
Thanks

I don't use a Remora. I use a SideGuard Double Snap Tuckable IWB which has a specific place cut out to relieve the mag release so this doesn't happen.

Soft magazine releases on M&Ps is a common issue discussed all over the net. (We've discussed it here before as well too.) Remedies include one or more of: replacing mag release spring with heavier guage one; filing down mag button so it doesn't get inadvertantly pushed in by holster or anything else; getting holster with cut out or molding to accomodate the problem.

Call Streichers. They will point you in the direction of the local S&W rep(Mike Fischer) who can change this issue real fast.

you might try the desantes super fly, it is a little more rigid than the remora, and might solve your problem but still have all the characteristics you are looking for....

I have contacted the guy at remora. He is awesome. He is gonna fix the holster or make a custom to get this issue resolved. Customer service at remora holsters is awesome so far.
