excellent video ... thanks!!!

The obvious safety issues, and outdated two-hand grip aside, I was quite impressed. The single-hand grip is perfect! And I never knew they actually taught ANY two-hand grip ... and recognized it as superior ... at that time.

If they were to use a proper two-hand grip, and the sights, but the same basic footwork, as they did when point-shooting, that'd be remarkably similar to what most of the top guys look like shooting USPSA.

Looks like they probly went through quite a few instructors!

And I don't know 'bout droppin' to prone at 50yd with a pistol vs. a sniper! ... sniper in an elevated position, no less!

Looks like the trigger finger was always on the trigger during this video. This safety rule must not have been developed by then.

And there is the scene with the instructor standing in front of the trainees with them all pointing their weapon at him while their fingers are on the trigger.

Why are people freaking out about the "finger on the trigger"? If you have trigger fingers that you can't control, one shouldn't really shoot to begin with. However, for these, they are using 1911s......

Actually, nobody can perfectly control their index finger from an autonomic reflex response. Try Gripping your other four fingers real fast without moving your index. Also, squeezing hard or fast your left hand can contract your right hand index. Then think about sneezing....

Keeping the finger off the trigger has nothing to do with lack of training, it's just the smart thing to do because **** happens.

the only thing I learned (tongue in cheek) was that grip angle makes no difference. more angle, less angle, just takes practice and it is a non issue.

so all you 1911 fan boys just lost one argument about "wah... I just can't get used to the grip angle of another gun... wah..."

The United States Army has exposed your ignorance and lack of ability!

 Couldn't expect a better use of a movie quote from you HammAR. Well put.

Although, technically HammAR is the last person on the board I'd expect to hear (nor have I ever heard him) whine about grip angle. He seems to understand you pick a gun and learn how to use it, rather than play hot potato with 15 different pistols and never learn to use any of them.
