well, the M9/92FS doesn't have a safety, it is a decocker.

I have had a Glock, didn't think it shot that bad. Glock made a bad call in 2002 and I won't forget it. When Playskool provides better customer relations on a $30 toy than a manufacturer does on a $500 pistol, it gets your attention.

the 9mm cartridge ain't the issue, it's the pour selection of bullet that needs to take the rap.

I own both a 9mm and a .45, I'll take the 9mm over the .45.

That and $5 will get you coffee at Starbucks.

I’m not a fan of the 9mm. Not that I had function problems just personal. I’m not volunteering to get shot by it I just can handle and like .45. I hate to make this statement because I’m sure “I’m pissing in some peoples gas tanks.” But the .45 is more effective overall. That’s what I think and I have read more than what anyone here will try to tell me so save your breath and believe what you want and shoot what you want. That part wasn’t directed towards you Mr. Slam unless you were going to try and preach to me about the 9mm.

The M9 itself I didn’t like much. The reach to the trigger was a bit much, and the overall size. I had heard a lot about the cracked slide. I do think the Glock would have been a better choice. The fact that the 1911 never went out use in the military I think says a lot about both the .45 and 1911.

HammAR I think your right he couldnt be that clueless. Could he?

The Beretta was not the actual winner of the XM9 Trials - it was the Sig226

the reason that the Beretta was chosen was that Beretta had manufacturing capability in USA as well as price. Performance - the M9 was NOT the winner.

9mm is not a bad caliber if youa re using good bullets = 9mm is all about shot placement and a pistol is never a replacement for a rifle. 9mm vs 45 has been going on for years and they both have their attributes and detracting factors.

I think that the 9mm is just fine for a SD weapon - military use - I think that would be fine too. Pistols lack the horsepower to do the job decisively.

Thanks for the heads up. A rifle is better than a pistol.

BUT I will not stop saying smartass things about Marines as it would go against everything the Army has taught me.

Obviously not a Navy guy then

It would have been a SIG 226 if not for the price

The SIG 226 would make me happier.
