LCP recoil spring life expectancy

How often should the recoil springs be replaced on a Ruger LCP? I have about 1100 rounds through mine and I'd prefer to change them before it causes any malfunctions. I can't find anything online and I have no idea how many rounds a set of springs can stand up to in these mouse guns....

for most of my pistols, defensive I change once every 2 years, other I change about every 10k rounds, maybe 20k. IMO problems don't really start til after 15-20k

Lol, yep. I wasn't very good with it initially. I needed the practice. It's almost 2 years old, so it's not really that many rounds

Had mine for a year monday. I only have maybe 150-200. Gun shoots very well for me and is made even easier with the crimson trace. That's awesome you've been shooting the piss outa yours, but that little 380 ammo aint cheap.

I probabbly have 750 thru mine..shoots so dang accurately, and never malfunctions.... I don't dare change a thing. Mine has HEAVY HEAVY holster wear...I like the look.

I was going to send you over to KTOG.COM the Kel-Tec owners forum...I think of them as the same pistol...there must be a Ruger forum...on the Kel-Tec forum you can find the most obscure info on various issues.

Did I hear that it's RECOMMENDED to change the recoil springs on a Rohrbaugh 9mm every 200 rounds??????????

I have 3 R9s--they are great guns and I've never had a FTF with any of them. they come with a no questions asked lifetime warranty in case there ever is a problem and the owner of the company, Eric Rohrbaugh, posts his cell number so you can call him directly if you have any questions. Because of their small size, the recoil spring takes a lot of abuse so you have to replace it every couple hundred rounds but they cost $4.99 each--no big deal. they are not range toys but I've put over 800 rounds thru one so far and still looks like new.

some folks think the pistols are too expensive but I think it's not too much to pay for the world's smallest 9mm and many folks pay a lot more than $1100 for a good quality 1911--I choose to pay that much for what I consider the best 9mm pocket gun on the market.
