You won't be disappointed. I bought my PT145 3 years ago and have 1,000's of trouble free rounds through it. It is my daily carry in a Crossbreed Super Tuck. I also have the Taurus OSS45, and a PT92. All have been flawless performers.

there's Bill's Gun Shop in Robbinsdale and Circle Pines, and its safe, but good for pistols only. its indoors, so winter shooting is comfortable, but it'll cost you $20 per visit. theres tradeoffs. where in town are you?
saying that guns kill people is like saying that spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat.

Yojason, do yourself a favor and get a Taurus 12 round 24/7 magazine. It works perfectly in your PT145 and gives you 12+1 (instead of the standard 10+1), and only extends your grip about 3/8". If you have larger hands (which I do) that little extra really improves handling of the recoil and lets you be just a little quicker on follow-up shots.

I prefer to have a bit more a "business relationship", with an FFL ... than I would with, let's say, the 18yr-old handin' me my lunch at McDonald's.

When I can, I have my FFL order what I want. When I'm gonna save more than $50, I have it shipped to my FFL, and gladly pay him $20, to call it in.

When I have a trade, I find I get a little extra consideration. When I'm lookin' to knock-down the price of something on the rack, I find I get a little extra consideration. When I need to ship a gun, I find I get nothing but help, and even a purdy good "Thank you" fer another $20, fer his trouble.

If yer not interested in any of them sorta things, I'd check Walmart ... 'er Fleet Farm. ;)

Very Well said! I would like to give a "Thumbs-Up" to all the Mn FFL Dealers, They do a wonderful job & provide a great service. My dealer of choice is Mike over at Lakes area Sportsmans Supply. A great guy to deal with, I am sure there are many just as good, but I don't think there are any better. I would encourage anyone in the market for a firearm to use a FFL dealer. jmop msn

I went with Hy's Pawn for the FFL they seem to know enough and were quick to fax the paperwork.

When I got my first gun I wondered the same thing so I asked around, and drove around and visited, and eventually made myself this map. Be sure to call ahead; some of this info is old -- and I'd appreciate any updated info. Have fun!

eventually you'll figure out that building a relationship with a ffl/dealer is the way to go, versus finding the absolutely bottom price. i work with thunderjohn, and with marv at frontiersman, because they stand behind what they sell, and are nice about it. frontiersman isn't always cheapest, but when i had a problem with a firearm, marv got it replaced no questions asked. john is just really good at having what i want when i want it, or going to lengths to getting what i want when i want it. that said, yup, i could get it cheaper online, but without the local guys to transfer TO, you'll end up paying gander prices once all the small businesses go away because there's NO profit left in it for them. face up to the fact that you've chosen a not inexpensive hobby/addiction and support the local shops.
