Nahh... What you want is Diamond-Like Carbon Coating!

Can look like anything from Bluing, to Chrome, Park, Case Hardening, etc... and is near indestructible. I've heard you can even run your guns dry because of the lubricity.

I'm not so sure u can get it to look like all those options you mentioned, I believe it also remains more of a matte finish. Great coating though!

Hmm... I know I've seen examples of shiny (like Bluing to chrome) and Matte (looked like parkerizing) in person, but I have seen some pictures of it online where it had a case hardening look to it (rainbow colored but blackish)

Yep, you're right, I found some examples of shiny DLC. However I haven't found any colored options, all the pics on line were mislabled once you read the sites....

This would be cool though, and much more functional than the black chrome....
