How do you slap a trigger that has a pull longer than your arm? Shame on you. :wack:

Shot one of these that a student brought to a class. Nifty little gun. I am considering one as an alternative to my J-Frame. Looks particularly useful for deep cover carry.

I have had my PF-9 for about a year now. Last time at the range (2 weeks ago) mag dropped out with each shoot fired. This had happened from time to time, but has been getting progressively worse.
Called Kel-Tec last week and they sent me out a new mag release and spring. Out to BVP today and put 6 mags through it without a single problem. Happy again, trigger finger a little sore, but a good sore.

I'd be interested in others experience w/ plus 1 mag extension .....for me it is a full.notch better than the finger extension mag. 9 rounds in the gun, 14 in the pocket for a.grand total of 23 rounds of 9 mm :)
The larger mag takes the gun to a "Tipping Point" ....with the stock mag it's a large P-3AT. With the plus 1 you compare it to a real gun. I'm a fan but I could live with a Kahr PM 9 .

If I am in a bad enough place that I need more than 7 rounds, [I shouldn't be there in the first place???] I will bring my AR15 with my 40 round mag., and not play around. ;)

Love my PF9 - got the crimson trace laser on it and carry either IWB or in a pocket holster.
It damn near disappears in either case. The laser is nice, too. Gotta watch the screws on it though.

If anyone has a Keltec PF9 with the plastic mag release button, call Keltec and they will send the upgraded metal release. The plastic ones had a wear issue and allowed the mag to fall out. I have had my PF9 for about 4 years and have had no problems at all. Mine did come with the plastic part and I changed it out before I had the problem. The PF9 is easy to carry compared to my M&P 9c.

The P3AT has the same issue with the mag release. Plastic. IIRC, we're not supposed to "slam" mags home, but insert them with minimal force.

I just picked up a PF9. So far she looks look pretty good. Looking forward to breaking it in...

Sadly it only ships with one mag and I'm finding out that spare mags are a little hard to come by. I did order the +1 with mag from kel-tec direct...
I love it when a plan comes together!

Thunderjohn had spare mags, pinky rests and belt clips when I got mine from him.

Chiming in:
I have one of these... did NOT like it out of the box. I do love it now and wouldn't readily trade it for a PM9 or LC9.

Sanding the flashing out of the trigger guard and also off the trigger made a pretty big difference in terms of comfort. I more recently put in the Northwood Components aluminum trigger in also, which is an even bigger improvement. Makes the gun feel a lot less cheap and is way more comfortable to boot.

Putting a sleeve of some kind on the grip also made a big difference. It really cuts out the "bite." There's something like 4-5 major options that all work to varying degrees. The ridges on the back and front of the stock grip for me made it almost un-shootable for me from how they dug into my hand.

The +1 mag extension is also really nice, it helps a lot with the gun rotating within your hand. So it makes it more comfortable to shoot. I was originally using an epoxied on Khar extension, but the newer +1 from Kel-Tec does the same job and adds a round on top of it. The stock pinky extension from Kel-Tec was junk, it was too small and my fingers just bunched up. Smaller hands would probably have less issue with all of that.

Total expense really still wasn't that bad and I learned a bit about how it functions and what to look for as I was getting it running right (I've done a few other free mods, like sanding the mag release down so it's more difficult to hit accidentally).
I had a broken takedown pin at one point as well, that Kel-Tec promptly replaced and was no big deal really. So their CS has proven pretty reliable.

Overall, I would still have gotten it over the Khar, considering the price differential. I would probably advise against it if the buyer absolutely is against messing with the gun at all ever and wants it to be perfect out of the box. (Go buy a Khar and suck it up for the price difference.)

and remember... this is just how it worked out for ME and my resulting impressions. I'm told there are people out there that pick them up and have no problem with them as they come out of the box.

I had the same problem with them digging into my hand so I took a knife and shave off the harsh edges. Feels much better now.
