Anyone looking for a Ruger SR1911 locally?

Postby hirdlej on Mon Jan 23, 2012 10:42 am

I was at my FFL yesterday picking up a pistol I had shipped in. He showed me a package he was opening with a new SR 1911. He wants $820 + tax for it. ( I have no idea what these sell for normally). I know they're hard to get and someone may be looking for one. I have nothing to gain by this, I'm just passing along info. The info is below.

Damn that's more than MSRP. I bought one last month at the Frontiersman for much less than that.
True enough they are scarce. That's even more than the one I saw at the EP Gander though.

Does your friend work part-time for Gander Mountain?

Hey, like I said, I have zero ideas what these sell for. I just see guys grumbling all the time that they can never find one. No skin off my teeth, I just thought I'd point out the fact I knew where one was. :D The only 1911 I own is a Colt and I paid a lot more than $8xx.xx. I suppose anything cheaper than what I paid seemed like a deal to me :P Honestly, I had no idea they sold that cheap ($610). Just trying to help out a fellow gun slinger is all :)

sawgrass. what'd you pay for yours?

I'm looking for one, but at that price I will keep looking. If anyone has any info on one new in the box for sale locally, please send me a pm.

I paid $646.00
I see them on Gunbroker for $800 plus with multiple bids. I guess supply and demand dictates price.

Not locally, but I just read on another Forum that Hoffman’s in CT has some and are selling them for $669+ shipping……and of course no sales tax.
