What do you want in a gun? I would narrow your choices down to a few then rent and shoot them side by side.

While I agree that a Glock is a great choice for someone who does not really know what they want in their first handgun why would your statement claiming that the seals use them matter if he is looking for a CCW?

I have a PF-9 and an XDsc. The PF9 carriers easier, but is not a range gun. I can shoot the XD9 sc all day, and it carries pretty damn well too.

It hasn't been mentioned yet, but I like my Sig P239. Yes, it's heavier than any of the other guns that have been mentioned, but I can also run 300 rounds through it in a range session and not have it feel like someone beat on my hand with a baseball bat.

The fact that the SEALs carried them when they killed Bin Laden has everything to do with choosing a CCW.

Wow, with that list I'd say you missed a bunch of great stuff. How about a Ruger LCP, Springfield EMP, S&W SD9, STI LS, CZ 75 Compact or Beretta Nano.

9mm carry gun? simple, SIG P226. too big? then SIG P229, it's a little shorter.

as far as the firearms that killed Bin Laden (there were MUTLIPLE shots, guys) the SEALS are supposed to carry SIG P229 MK25s. sure, they can carry whatever the individual SEAL would like to carry, but the sidearm for the Navy SEALS is the SIG P226 MK 25 (now offered to you 'n me on the civilian side)
