I had a Kel-Tec P-40 (40 S&W) and put more than that number of rounds through it while I owned it. I did change the recoil spring when I first bought it and again after 800 rounds to lessen the impact of the slide on the frame. I read on the Kel-Tec forum that it was even more important to regularly replace the recoil spring on these guns than on standard sized guns due to the smaller size and weight. I don't know if it was true or not but at $5 for a spring, it was cheap insurance. I cracked the frame of a Star PD many years ago when I did not realize that the springs needed to be replaced at some point. That was a lesson I took to heart in future years.

As the original poster put in the title of this thread... "CCW 9mm"

Now that might mean different things to different people. Personally my concealed carry 9mm of choice is the Kel Tec PF9. Sub compact, very light weight, accurate, and dependable. 7+1 rounds of Hornady Critical Defense would be more than enough for most social encounters. If I need more "fire power" I'll carry my Glock G19 3rd Gen in a IWB holster, and bring both 15 round magazines with (plus one in the pipe for a total of 31).

God forbid I have to go to some where I might encounter WROL (without rule of law), zombies, or the melt down of western civilization... Springfield XD9 Tactical in a paddle holster open carry like with 5 (yes five) 16 round magazines.

There are no "pros" to a Taurus.

There are NO pro's to the Sigma series either.

Kahr CM9 will suit your needs very well... :D

as far as the firearms that killed Bin Laden (there were MUTLIPLE shots, guys) the SEALS are supposed to carry SIG P229 MK25s. sure, they can carry whatever the individual SEAL would like to carry, but the sidearm for the Navy SEALS is the SIG P226 MK 25 (now offered to you 'n me on the civilian side)

Wait a minute, so do the Seals carry the P229 or the P226? Bold highlighting by me.

According to my reading the Seals carry the Sig P226 MK25, not the P229.

I second the Walther PPS.. great little carry gun and the one for sale right now is a stellar price.

Went to Academy sports this weekend. Seen the new Sig P290. The grip is so small I could only get one finger around the grip without the long mag extension. I think you might want to forget about this one.... so I guess it is a Not To Get. I thought I would like it before I seen it in person.

After picking up a few & shooting them I went with a Ruger SR9C. Ran 250 rounds through it and love it. Nice size, low recoil, accurate and at a nice price. Thanks for all the input guys

You can take out the mag safety pretty easily, can't do anything about the red flag on top of the slide though :bolt:

All kidding aside, you can't go wrong with a Ruger. They're built to take abuse and Ruger's customer service is second to none. Good choice.
