Looking for individual sellers...

Postby Muddy41 on Wed Mar 07, 2012 7:46 pm

I am trying to find more local gun dealers that sell out of there house..I have already chatted with John from Southwest Arms and unfortuantly he cannot help me with what I am looking for in pistols..

I am hoping that others on here can lead me in the right direction..Come Friday I finaly get my cash to buy my pistols with...When I found that out I sent John a list and due to the frenzy of buying the guns I am looking for so are the rest of you guys as well..

So if you know any other small gun sellers that work out of there house I would love to try and see if they can help me purchase my first 2 pistols ever...

I would rather deal with these guys then give my money to the big retailers... I have been to places like Gunstop if which I really enjoy drooling over there guns as well as the humor that goes on there..The guys there are all great to work with..They do possibly have something that I could buy and I more than likely would be happy but with being my first gun purchases I want to get what I truly want even if I have to wait a while..Might even have to buy on the net..But again I would prefer to buy local and give my money to the smaller guys as well as they usually give you the best price beating out any retail store..

I am heading to Ahlmans on Friday to see what they have for sale as well as any other places that are in the Owatonna area..Heading south right after I drop the rg rats off at school....

So let me know who you know and where they are from...

Thanks
Mike

Got some Sig Certified Pre-Owned P220s (rebuilt), unfortunately I'm not working out of a house.

The bigger stores can usually sell a gun cheaper than a single man operation can even buy one for.

I personally buy from http://www.budsgunshop.com and http://www.gunbroker.com and have the firearm transfered to Mike @ PBO. He charges $25 for a transfer.

You can usually save $50-$150 buying from the cheapest place online and then having a local guy do your transfer.

I don't agree. Some of the "kitchen table" guys have real good prices, but normally not the inventory.

Yeah, a small shop/home business keeping an inventory often can't compete due to the slow movement of his inventory, but a small shop/home business that deals with in demand product exclusively or that operates mostly as a special order business can often keep his costs down and offer prices that any business with higher expenses will find itself hard pressed to match.

buy locally. these are the guys you shoot with every weekend. they are our friends. better to pay more and establish a good relationship in town than use an out-stater running margins on volume. IMHO

I an a believer in spreading the love. I have purchased from a pistol and a shotgun from bills. A shotgun at gouger mountain, a couple firearms online via gun broker. Some at fleet farm and one a gun stop. Plus a couple of the board here. All since june. If you see what you want at a good price buy it. If not keep looking. I spent 2 months looking for the right ar platform 308. Finally got it online for a lot less than anywhere else. But don't count out places like bills and frontiersman and gun stop.
Wrap that around your overly muscled left wing and row your dinghy in counterclockwise circles as a result.

That's me. I do special orders only....I have a regular full time job and don't sell more than a few guns a week, so I have no overhead to cover.

My regular full time job has me working out of my home office much of the time so it works out well.

I'll do transfers for $10.
