MN legal 1911 22's

Are there any 1911 copies in .22 that are legal in MN. I want something cheap to plink around with and thought a 1911 might be nice, but it seems all of the lower priced ones are "Saturday night specials"

So far, the Sig Sauer 1911-22 and Umarex Colt 1911-22 are the models that have not yet been declared too melty for Minnesota

what about the chiappa's?

I could of sworn I saw a whole table full of chiappa's at the gun show in Mankato last month...

I thought the Colt was illegal too, I guess I have to look into that a little more.

Being illegal under a vague and seldom enforced state law means you'll still see some dealers selling them.

And they really only become illegal once the manufacturer provides testing analysis on the frames, since the state has no real desire to do the testing themselves. Therefore most of these guns have a window between introduction and testing where they being sold all over without regard to melting point. This is what happened with the GSG-1911 from American Tactical.

I've heard it's not enforced heavily, I just want to cover my a.
So it's not illegal to buy or own a SNS, it's just illegal for a dealer to sell them?

They have a Chiappa in the case up here in PR. Said they have sold many, I asked about reliability and they said so so. So I passed.

I held one of the Browning 1911 22s at the shows earlier this year and it felt really loose and cheap. Not worth the money at all, in my opinion.

The Rock Island XT22 is legal in MN, but costs about $100 more than the Chiappa models.
