S&w 36-1 revolver question

Postby springfield1911 on Sun Mar 11, 2012 1:41 am

I have a few question's about a s&w 36-1 3in bbl chiefs special five shot revolver. I have recently inherited this handgun and I don't know much about these revolvers. Any info about it and if someone knows an approximate value would be appreciated.

The gun is in excellent condition. Comes with original box, papers, receipt, s&w wax paper, original grips and cleaning rod, owners manual. Receipt date of purchase 3/2/82. This is a one owner gun and has had only 30rds fire through its whole life.

Figure $400 at the low end. After that, as much as somebody wants to pay.

Three inch, pinned barrel, round butt, nice bluing. Very nice piece, I'm afraid I might never carry it, it's so pretty. Which would be a shame, because carrying is what an M36 was made for.

If you decide to sell it, drop me a pm, please.

I paid $350 for a pinned M36 no dash, 3" square butt about a year ago, also in excellent condition.

No box or papers came with it, though.
