It's because of the metal they're made out of. I know someone else posted a really good explanation a while back, and it would be worth searching for.

The XT 22 and the TCM are very different guns, the XT 22 is a 1911 pattern rimfire, and the TCM is a 19+1 1911 that has a barrel for 9mm and a barrel for .22 TCM, which is a shortened .223 and just a little bit more powerful than 5.7x28.

The TCM is something I've been looking at with interest, because it should also accept a 7.62x25 Tok conversion barrel, and 19+1 with a Tok would be pretty neat.

The XT 22 is interesting because the slide is topless forward of where the ejection port would start on a regular 1911, and the barrel looks to be a VERY heavy bull barrel.

Don't buy a GSG / ATI, either. Claptrap garbage of the highest calib... degree.

It all comes down to price, really. You can get a really high quality Browning Buckmark or Ruger MK I, II, III, or 22/45 with good warranties from reputable companies for significantly cheaper than a claptrap 22 clone of a popular pistol. Buy cheap, buy twice. Get a Browning or Ruger.

Funny how that has worked out as the Sig Sauer is the same pistol as the GSG, or have they now changed the maker?.

I have two Buckmarks and a GSG 1911, all seem to run the same for me - Great!!! No problems at all. Would love to hear what kind of problems you have been having with your GSG´s, that has you putting them into the the "Claptrap garbage" pail

According to Sig, their 22 is made of zinc, which would fall into our Sat. Night Special category and not legal here.
No agency I've talked to wants to bother with a list or even seem to care which guns fall into that category,
but wait until one shows up at a murder scene. They'll work fast to see how it got here and who sold it.

I love my GSG. Never a problem.
When I see five weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards. That's my policy.

Shot my Colt 1911-22 for the first time this weekend. Awesome shooter. Shot some HP 22LR was unsure being that they where HP and it seems the 22 pistols all seem to have feed issues. Didn't have a problem, would have shot it more but had family with and they where shooting some rentals. Shot probably 150 rounds through it. Great little gun.

The SIG Mosquito isn't made by SIG, but a nameless company that licenses the SIG name and look. It's pretty awful.

I was referring to the Sig 1911 22. Same deal.
