The "Mouse Gun" chart is always a good place to start.

Ruger LCP can't be beat for price/quality.

Kahr P380 - good sights, nice trigger; but a bit more expensive.

Next in line would be the Ruger LCP - horrible sights; but very affordable.

I have a LCP and like it. I've shot The Bodyguard before sights are better.

Ruger LCP can't be beat for price/quality.

Sure it can, Taurus 738. I'll take one over an LCP. Both have a lifetime warranty and issues. Taurus has last round slide lock, feels and shoots better for me and costs less. I can't see spending a lot of money on a .380, as for me it's a last ditch gun when nothing else fits the bill - still needs to be reliable, but does not need to be pretty or fancy. I love my Kahr's, but there are just times when it's just more convenient to throw a small .380 in a Smartcarry or pocket and call it good, knowing the gun can get the job done if necessary. I'd love to have the Kahr P380, however unless I come across one that's been broken in and tested for $350 I'll stick with my little TCP, or teesiepee if we need cute names.

In comparison, the TCP has a much better trigger pull, very smooth and consistent vs the LCP which is gritty and harder the farther it's pulled. The LCP also stings a lot more than the TCP and doesn't fit my hand nearly as well. The only thing I can attribute to this is the slightly longer handle as they're both about the same size otherwise.

Personal preference, try as many as you can before purchasing - however to say the LCP can't be beat is not necessarily true, for me - the TCP beats it in all aspects.

Having been looking myself, I'd say definitely the Sig or the Smith and Wesson bodyguard 380. Why? The sights. Nearly every pocket pistol in 380 has really low profile sights which make it harder to aim with. If you've read any reviews from Handgun magazine, they report less accuracy with those pistols (Ruger, Taurus). The Sig is accurate and is great quality, but is somewhat heavier than all the others. Then you've got the Bodyguard 380 which has great sights, is very light, and comes with an attached laser (which isn't necessary but nice). I'm going with the Bodyguard myself, as it'll be about 200 dollars cheaper than the Sig. And it's also slightly easier to conceal than the Sig. Otherwise, you can look at the Walther style 380's (Bersa, PPK) but again, those are bigger options than most pocket-sized 380's.

Disclaimer: Personal opinion to follow.

I think these .380's are a last ditch gun, and hence the sights aren't a concern at the distance they're most likely to be used (and accurate within). I'll take that extra $200+ and put it toward ammo and range time practicing point shooting instead.

Would have the ability to test fire both? The Kahr is locked breech where the LCP is blowback operated.

Edit...or is the LCP locked breech? I don't remember now.

Edit#2..LCP's are locked breech. I used to have a Kel-tec. Should have remembered that. Sorry. Don't mind me.
Either way I seemed to enjoy shooing the Kahr more than the Keltec.
Yeah, but I shoot with THIS hand.

Agreed. For me, I like to have those sights on there for the simple reason that because I'll likely never use the pistol in a defense situation, I'd like to have the ability to be accurate at the range with it as far out as I possibly can, even if just for markmanship's sake. I do agree that for pocket 380's decent sights aren't a must-have, but I don't doubt that having good sights could potentially improve my chances of hitting what I'm aiming at.
