We were created equal. What we do with our lives from there makes us individuals. My grandfather, my father and I were military and we get a free meal at Applebee's once a year. My wife's grandfather, father and brother are all in agriculture and they get company trucks. In the real world I work on security systems and I get to buy one for my home at cost. My wife works for an eye surgeon and she gets free glasses. We were all made the same but made different decisions and reap different benefits. I like that you quoted the Declaration of Independence. Here's another quote you can use to get a discounted Glock for yourself:bulletproof wrote:The United States Declaration of Independence states that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. You were the one that said it was a horrible stance that people would want to be treated equally. And then balk when I point out it's a key principle in the Declaration of Independence. If you want to debate then actually do it. Claiming I'm using unfounded arguments and analogies is frivolous at best.Countryfried Frank wrote: My grandfather, my father and I were military and we get a free meal at Applebee's once a year. Many of the examples you give are benefits people get from where they work. When it comes to business it's not an egregious act to want the same products, pricing and service other people are getting.weck wrote:It would be kind of nice if they extended this to people who are not retired or active, but can prove they served and were honorably discharged..
It would be nice if they gave away free firearms too. Do you somehow think you're entitled to the same benefits LEO, active duty and reserve soldiers are? You're no longer in the armed forces. Maybe you should sign back up?

I still would love to see these keyboard vigilantes take this discussion to a VFW or vets motorcycle ride.
I want the same benefits without earning them!!!

I don't think that Vets or LEO's earned ANY benefits from Glock, S&W, Kimber, or any other manufacturer.
Vets get their bennie's from good old Uncle Sam, and perhaps their paid membership to the VFW.
LEO's get their benefits from their employers or organizations to which they pay to belong.
Anything from any retailer IS a nice perq, even though I personally don't believed it's technically earned ...

Not really.
There's a VERY big difference between telling a vet he hasn't earned his veteran's benefits, and telling him he shouldn't get a deal from Glock just because he's served.
I think YOU should try each at your local VFW.

Describe me for myself, so I understand what you're saying.
