Not true in all cases. I had some problems with my 17 throwing brass all over the place at first but with an updated part that got taken care of. The rest of my gen4s I have not had one problem.
Are you using under powered ammo?
Yes I am. Heck not one of my Gen4s has had a factory round through it. My minor 40 and 9 loads are right at 125 PF. I've also ran full powered stuff through all of them.
ETA: My 26 has had 20 rounds of gold dot through it, but that's it for factory ammo.
