I reduced my SP101 to a "gun in a bag" last night

Swapping the springs was easy enough, the hard part? Taking out the trigger assembly, and getting it back in. I'm not about to take a hammer to my new pistol (anymore than I did last night)....looks like it's going to a gunsmith once my new pawg plunger (oops!) arrives :bravo:

The edges are so rough on some of these parts it makes you wonder how they get the things together in the first place....lot's of force would be my guess. The trigger assembly is seriously HARD to remove and put back....craziness.

Yep, I found there was flashing on the frame where the plunger locks the trigger mechanism back in place which required some cleaning with a file to get the trigger guard to lock back in place without excessive hammer time. I forgot about this little quibble... oops. :)

Guess I'm not the only one seeing the poor casting/roughness on the internals, maybe dropping a bunch of fine abrasive in the guts and dry firing the gun about 1000 times before a major strip and clean would be a poor man's "Tubb's Final Finish" for the working parts. Then again, a $75 trip to Bill's might be cheaper in terms of time and frustration... :)

Congrats on the 357 magnum. I also got my first 357 magnum gun this week and I love it!

Nice find! Personally I love a good Ruger wheel gun. You'll absolutely enjoy the .357 for a woodsgun. Congrats!
