my buddy shot one at bills yesterday, and he said while trying to engage the hammer with the trigger he had a nd. He was pointed downrange of course. lol.

couldnt you get some add on like that for Hi powers and 1911's where you could cock and lock, then ratchet the hammer down?

no idea. but DA/SA seems to be sufficient. Don't know why you would want to carry a 1911 uncocked

I watched that once, and it was painfully obvious that you would probably have to spend hours thinking of possible failure modes in real SHTF situations. I think I'd have trouble remembering that setup even if I owned one, and God help the person who owns a Daewoo AND a Glock and shoots both on the same range trip!!
