Just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD.
Some people may do something to (push buttons, stretch the law, be an activist, because-dadgum-it-I-have-the-right/privledge, etc); while others may have other reasoning. Anything can be debated and argued pro and con, so I won't go there, but suffice it to say, for everyone like me who says they can't see a reason to legally carry an AK pistol, there's probably someone who can.
I'll use myself as an example.....
There are those who conceal carry, some openly carry, some do both. I fall into the "openly carry" crowd. I've laid my reasons out in another thread, so I won't repeat them here, but we all have our reasons. I won't say that someone should or shouldn't legally do something, but I will say that we all must make our own choices and take responsibility for them. Think of it like freedom of speech in the regard that freedom of speech ISN'T the right to say whatever you want without consequences... it is the right to say what you want and be held accountable for your words. I take full responsibility for my words, actions and deeds. If "The Man" shoves me to the ground for openly carrying, while it's wrong and could have been avoided by concealed carry, I'm ok with the potential misunderstanding, but I'm not ok with being grounded like that, but even so, I accept the risk and take responsibility for that risk.
So, if someone wants to carry an AK pistol and they are legally privileged and wish to do so, then by all means, have right at it, but just take ownership and responsibility for whatever may come. Please just don't walk near me so when they come for you, I don't get hit by the crossfire or in the fray/mess in any way, shape or form.
America, in my opinion, is very extreme on many things... what follows is my perception of how some people appear to me... this is not how I think or feel for myself, but rather how I perceive some people would may be called "gun nuts" or some other label akin to that..........
if you can't have a gun, don't even THINK of one, but if you can have a gun, then by god I'd better be able to have a howitzer cannon in my front yard in case I want to shoot the squirrel across the street. It's an all or nothing mentality.
Common sense will go a long way and save you a TON of headaches in life, but hey, to each their own.
