Another vote for chip McCormic Match magazines.

I like the Chip MrCormick Power + Mags. I have the regular power mags as well and have had no malfunctions with them.

I know lots of guys who like the Wilson as well.

The Tripp magazines seem to be more popular in the shooting sports community and dont seem to be as popular in .45 (most guys running the Tripps are shooting USPSA Single Stack major in .40 or minor in 9mm). Some guys swear these are the ONLY 1911 mag to use in those calibers. I had great luck with MecGar in my 9mm 1911 as I was too cheap to spring for the Tripps.

At least as far as .45...

Wilson Combat, McCormick, are what I use. Mec Gar is also okay. Wilson Combat mags are my favorite though. They seem to be the best quality to me.

i've got the factory SIG mags from my gun, a couple Shooting Star McCormicks, a KimPro Kimber mag, a Wilson 47D and two GI Colt mags. all of 'em work (after i got new springs for the Colt mags, they were TRASH).

my theory: all popular mags are of a certain level of quality. before i carry a mag, i test fire the PISS out of it. so far, all my mags are good enough to carry. the only issues i've had with any of my mags or my gun have been related to crappy ammunition. and i'm talking 4-5 jams out of 4-5 thousand rounds

The stock Ruger mags work ok for me. I had a couple chip mcormick mags... After both caused a ver bad jam in my gun I tossed em. Im planning on buying 8-10 tripp research mags in a few days (varying capacities as well.)

From my experience it depends on the 1911. My S&W 1911 would run any mag, My Springer would not run with Wilsons
-- I have had every manufactures magazines and If I had to pick the best value I would go with Metalforms - They are the supplier of the mag tubes to Tripp, Ed Brown, etc.... Midway USA sometimes has good deals on these.... Although in today's crazy world who knows..

This is the mag and at $19.99 is a real value. Back in stock estimated Jan 18th

Would anybody happen to have a spare Wilson mag laying around somewhere that they could stand to part with? I have several Chip McCormacks on order but they will take a few weeks to get here. I would like the opportunity to test a Wilson or two through my Kimber before I commit to buying some.
