It's announced in 9mm but as far as I know not out yet. Same exact size and a couple ounces heavier than the 45.

You can't have a handgun shipped directly to your house anyway. Not a new purchase, at least. There has to be an FFL involved to receive it.

True. I was speaking for about the shipping in general. I wouldn have purchased the mags online or ammo either, IF I could have found it locally instead.

Why does it have to be local? Then you have to pay sales tax....

Have you ever had a gun transferred from out of state? You don't need to worry about it showing up at a neighbors. You buy it, and it ships to your FFL....you then go to your FFL's place of business and go through the paperwork. The gun wouldn't even be shipped to your neighborhood (unless your FFL is your neighbor), and you're in no way responsible for the firearm until it is transferred to you. Since money is no object, you could have your pistol by this coming week. All I'm saying is, in this day and age there's no need to wait for a gun to show up at a local shop, if you want it now you can get it pretty quick.

I'm glad you took the time to reply. How's that for being positive?

Ghetto guns gotta have bling. That's why glocks aren't that popular with the hood rats. The XDs is a ghetto gun. No law abiding citizen needs a pistol that small with a blinged out slide. He should have got one with an FDE or OD green slide to show his support for the troops. Or perhaps he's supporting some other group with that shemagh in the background.

True. I could just order it online, but I prefer not to.No, money isn't the problem at all. I'm just picky that way I guess. Some things I don't have a problem with ordering online, other things I do. When I bought my XDm at Bill's, I held a couple of different ones and they felt different to me. They had the same sized grip, but I could tell the difference. Scientific differences? No. It was a difference that was perceptible enough to me that I could feel it. I can't quantify that, but I know it when I feel it. I want an XDs, but I'm not desperate either.

Also true I'm not responsible for it until I get it from the FFL, but once you order it, it's yours. I don't want to get a gun I'm not happy with. When I ordered mags and ammo, that's one thing; but a gun is something entirely different in my book. It's much more personal.

It's not yours until it's transferred to you.
It's the policy of at least one online dealer to allow a return if you refuse to accept it before doing the transfer. Before the transfer, it's still 'new'; once the transfer is done, it's only 'as new' and can't be again sold as new.

Right on. Once you've bought and sold enough guns I bet that changes ;)

Then you're either a new gun owner, or?????

Well, I guess it was you that said a gun is just a tool to you, you buy what you need and no more. I guess with that attitude get a couple guns and sit tight. To most of us that's a foreign thought process, some of us are gipsys with the buying/selling/trading...
