.357SIG is a round looking for a question, much like 45 GAP. These manufactures introduced these rounds hoping to generate market. A market that they would have a edge in. Niether has had the positive impact they wanted. The 40S&W although widely popular is now starting to see a decline in LE as agencies understand it really does not offer much over 9 or 45 and officers tend not to shoot it as well. The one thing going for 40 is it the round for 'limited' in USPSA.

Based on new guns being purchased, it is. Many agengies are moving back to 9, some to 45. But the past of just assuming they would us 40 is changing, not fast but changing.

When my office went gun shopping the last two times, we stayed away from .40 for that EXACT reason. And 9 gave us more boolits.

I'm a .45 guy myself, but, oh well.
