.45 vs 9mm ?

Are you saying you want to kill? I don't get it. I keep a pistol on my body to stop a threat and keep myself/family safe.

It's simple. If I was worried about the if someone gets killed part I'd carry something less-than-lethal. I don't, so I'm not. I've trained to shoot at center mass, right where all the soft blood spewing organs reside. If I wanted to maim or wound someone I'd take up TV shooting and aim for the knees or hand holding the weapon. How many people do you think train that way? Everyone that points a firearm at something living should be ready for the taking of life, be it self defense or hunting.

So like I said, if you are that worried about it why aren't using a tool to defend yourself that's less-than-lethal?

Agreed. The key is to stop the threat, not to kill. If they die in the process, well, that was not your intention to kill them, only to stop the threat. As one person said in a court case when asked if he shot to kill, he said "No. I shot to live."

I believe if I am reading the sentiment correctly, I agree. It's not "I want to kill" but "I don't want to be killed"

I'm just curious. Why does it seem that 9mm is so much more popular than .45? I have been to several gun shops lately and there are always .45 cal ammo but no 9mm. Also there is always .45 guns and not many 9mm. I just recently got a glock 21 that i have not yet fired but am really anxious to get it on the range. I also have a S&W 1911 that i just love! It's probably my fav handgun. I got the glock 21 just because i liked my 1911 so much. .45 seem to just have more ommppphhhh than 9mm and so much more fun to shoot. Oh i do have a 9mm keltec pf9 that i was using as a carry gun but it's just not that much fun to shoot. Just interested in what others opinions are
