Friend of mine bought a SIG and it hit low. Since he was clueless I called SIG and they recommended replacing the rear sight with a taller one rather than filing on the front sight to cure the problem. Apparently we are not the only ones to have issues with SIG's POI. SIG has several rear sight options, CDNN happened to have the one my buddy needed. Cheap and quick fix for a proud to own piece of hardware. Seemed to me like old school fit ( tight tolerances, smooth action ). And it will leave a bigger impression than those tupperware items without bending or cracking should you choose to use it as a club.
Enjoy and keep feeding the beast; the sample I used didn't seem fussy about what you fed it.

Which one did he put in, and what Sig was it?

Sigs use a combat sight picture from the factory. Here is some additional info:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=30414&p=345691#p345691

I've found the following combination of sights to be perfect for a 9mm Sig:

DP Sig Arms #5 Tritium Inserted Front Sight .180 Tall x .125 Wide, Match with Factory Fixed or Warren Fixed Rear #021134
http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductD ... 1278686608

DP Charger Fixed Rear Sight for Sig Arms 220, 226, 228, 229, Tritium Inserted, .145 Notch, Non-Serrated #018072
http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductD ... 1282067270

I like this sight combo for the following reasons:

1) POI is ~1.5" 6:00 hold at 25 yards, allowing you to see where your rounds will hit.
2) Front and back are both tritium, but rear are small vials without rings, providing less visual clutter than a traditional 3 dot.
3) Charger rear sights are angled and serrated on the front, allowing you to charge your weapon one handed on your pant leg.

I've spent many hundreds of dollars over the years trying various combinations of sights. For a 9mm Sig used as a carry weapon, this is the best I've found :)

My experience was with a P 220. NICE piece of hardware. The factory should have suggestions for the other models, height being dependent on sight radius and all that.
I don't recall the height, I believe the customer service person referred to a number ( as in, # 10 ) rear sight as the suggested height to work; they may have more than one to pick from. He did inquire as to what distance we were shooting at and how low the POI was relating to our POA.

I hadn't seen that M11 before. Is that a short barrel 226? Looks like it's shorter than a regular one. In any case, I love the ones I own. My first semi auto was a P220, and it probably has the best trigger in a mass production semi-auto I've ever felt.

IIRC, the M11 is a 228/229.

What made you choose the M11-A1 verse the MK25?

Smaller(ish), Already have 2 fullsize CZs. Wanted something smaller than those and bigger than my 26. Figure with the right holster I could still carry this one.

and I've always wanted a Sig

Brought her home this afternoon. Sig sure does like to grease these things up so I'll probably break it down and clean it tomorrow.

That is another great thing about a Sig. Break down is so easy, you could do it in the dark.
I have several Sigs, and all are great guns. Also, to add to the other posts, on my Sig P226, I added an adjustable rear sight. With my P220, I kept the factory Sig sights on, and adjusted my reloads to hit the X ring.

Have fun, and like what was said, Sigs have a tendency to multiply

Finally nice enough out this afternoon to go to the range. Put about 130 rounds though it and this thing is an pleasure to shoot.
@ 10 yards it was definitely hitting about 4-5" low compared to my 26, then i remembered the comments a couple posts up from this one. I made the adjustment and this thing is dead nuts on.
The other "adjustment" I needed to make was the Short Reset Trigger. First two rounds I put down the pipe, totally unintentional double tap. oops  But once you're used to it, wow.
All in all I love this thing. Just as accurate as my CZs, grip angle is just as natural as my CZ, If only it was a bit lighter I'd make it my EDC. But I did just order a holster so who knows.

Just picked up a West German P226 the other night.
No rail, which I like.
Paid less than $400.00. I'll shoot it next week.
That is 4 Sigs now, and counting.
Can't keep away from them.

Can't go wrong with a sig. Just got my hogue grips in the mail yesterday for my 226 MK25. Think my next sig will be the M11 or the 938 for carry.

Frontiersmen had a Sig 229 (9mm) last September for 650.00. I wish and kick myself, that I should of purchased it.
I will turn in my firearms and not carry a gun for my own protection. When our Government Leaders stop hiding behind man's that carry guns to protect them.

Mmmm, Siggy goodness. :D
