That's a +1 for the XDm Compact over the XDs for me. hmmmmmm time to compare the two before buying one of them.

A +1, but don't let a few mags make the choice. As you said...they would be for training. But if you train with a compact that has an extended mag, and carry with a standard mag it won't shoot the same. Or more to the point, you might hold it differently.

The only problem i have had with my xdm compact 45 is that i bought it in january and have gotten it out to the range yet. It comes with one 9 round mah and one 13 mag. It has the grip sleeves for 3 mags. There are plenty of extra mags here in mankato.

Assuming you're carrying two gun (one as a back-up), you would be wise to get one that takes the same magazines. Also, a laser will improve hip shooting accuracy. A conceal carry badge is also crucial in case someone makes a stink about the open carry.

1) haha.
2) They don't make a 13-round magazine for the XDs.
3) Lasers are for wimps. My bullets are coated with the blood of Chuck Norris so they will know where to go kick ass at and can get through anything....even at 10,000 yards.
4) Badges? Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!!
5) Thanks for the laughs!!

6) Yeah, I obviously decided on the XDs. I believe the XDm Compatct may take the 13-round mags, but then you may as well just carry a full sized firearm.

Yeah, the way I see it, no paperwork, no tax, extra 7 round magazine, extra IWB holster, JHP ammo, plus all of the stuff you normally get with an XDx purchase (2 magazines, holster, magazine holsters, manual, case, etc), it was worth it. I didn't even bother to barter because of the extras included in the deal. Bill's was selling them new for $619 a week or so ago with just what you normally get with one. Before the pricing panic, I think an XDs is $549, but by the time you add in taxes and the stuff you'll want to buy with it anyway, it's still $700 or more, so dropping $700 on a deal like isn't even worthy of a second thought. It's was a no-brainer for me. I've had chances to buy one before, but I got lucky with the sweetest deal I could fortunately find.

I'd like to get at least 2-4 more 7-round magazines for it, but that's it really. I already let one of the staffers at Arnzen Arms know. I figure as a start-up they need my funds more than some of the established businesses do.

Another bonus is the fact that it's all black, which makes sense for a concealed firearm. My bi-tone XDm which I OC is fine, but no point in having a bi-tone for CC since if for some reason my shirt moved, black is going to be less noticeable than even dulled. brushed metal would be.
