Majestic Arms....

No, not my majestic arms, but Majestic Arms in NY...

Has anyone installed their Speed Strip kit on a MK II or MKIII Ruger 22?

Seems like a good idea but I am not a gunsmith...

I don't have one. Went through a Mark II phase a few years ago and read alot about the guns and aftermarket supplies for them. Seemed only to be a few folks -- mostly newbies -- that bought the majestic speed kit. It's not needed if you take the gun apart a few times and get familiar with it. They are not any where near as hard to tear down and put back together as folks -- again, mostly newbies -- complain on the net. Spend the money instead on some VQ ignition parts (hammer and sear and adjustable trigger) plus the clark oversized hammer bushing.

I've got one on my MKII, makes quickly stripping the bolt out for cleaning. My buddy has stripped the threads on his by not paying attention when re-assembling it but he's not really mechanically inclined. I like it on my MKII though. I really like the VQ mag release though, no more pawing at the release trying to get the mag to drop free, super easy not. Just can't slam the mag in with the palm of your hand but not a big deal there.

OK thx. I'll advise when I get the kit and install it. I really like the pistol, but I am not fond of the cleaning regimen. I DID order the extended mag release as well.
