Oh yeah, forgot to mention don't take the muzzle brake off unless you have the tool to align it. Magnum have had several returns for people that have shot the muzzle brake off. Also I have had an order in for about a year for .50 AE dies, so if you want to reload have some patience.

Nice job in making a sweet gun!! I have the hornady dies that I have had for awhile, I had to send the size die back and they had to make a custom die for me. Cases were getting stuck no matter how much lube I used. Now it works great, except for the surface rust! I'm used to dillon dies and prefer them, but they do not have a set for the .50.

So on one side of my DE it says IMI made In Israel. And the other side says magnum research Minneapolis, MN. So is mine not the US version?

That is how mine is labelled so I suspect we both have the Made in Israel version, which is fine by me.

I had always heard that the safety switch was where you could tell if you had the Israeli or American version. Something about the design of the little thumb switch was different. Which is what I heard.

But I've also heard online just doing searches on the Internet, that the reliability of the Israeli versions wasn't near as good as the American version. But in my opinion, a lot of that also depends on how you take care of it, ammo selection, cleaning and things like that as we'll.

Ok, no problem with functioning. I've shot around 3-400 rnds through mine. So what does yours say on the sides?

Mine is a older model. According to the low serial number mine is from the early 90s.

According to some "guy" on the internet.... My friend who I traded the gun for said her ex husband bought it back in 1991. Also one of the mags is stamped 04-91.

My .44 mags are dated 7-08. My .50 mags are dated 5-95. The gun SN begins with 412 and I bought the gun BNIB special odor from dealer in Nov 11.

And now that I looked for this stuff I cannot find the box for the MF thing. You'd figure I'd be able to find the MF box for a gun that size. But nnnnnnnoooooooooo. I bet I put it in a safe place along with all the other stuff I can't find, like the 2nd mag for my DW 10mm.

I just tried looking for my box. It's MIA at the moment. My .50 mags say 5-95, but I don't think that's the date. My serial number starts with 342. Now I gotta find that box!!

After we prototyped the 10" barrel I talked the big guys into letting me have a scrap barrel, but still able to shoot. The first thing I thought of after shooting this thing is we have to mellow it out if they want to sell it as a hunting option. Now it is a big joke around work, but works good-remember I am trying to control recoil not accuracy. Started working on a rear sight to match the front, but it means taking the rear sight off-(no way!). I have made a locking nut in the mean time and will do some testing when the snow finally melts. If anyone is looking for a muzzle brake upgrade for a 10", PM me and we will get you a shooter. I would never dis the IMI because they made an awesome weapon, but i really believe we have improved it quite a bit. Unless it says Pillager MN. and has a full picatinny on top it is probably Israel made.

Just got the barrel back! MR did a beautiful job! I can tell a difference in weight, but also a difference in the cool factor! It looks sweet! The only bad part i guess is the brake is a different color than the gun. You can see it in the pics. They sent it back with some oil on it and I'm curious to what they use. It smelled good, lol!
