I had always heard that the safety switch was where you could tell if you had the Israeli or American version. Something about the design of the little thumb switch was different. Which is what I heard.
But I've also heard online just doing searches on the Internet, that the reliability of the Israeli versions wasn't near as good as the American version. But in my opinion, a lot of that also depends on how you take care of it, ammo selection, cleaning and things like that as we'll.
