Local sources for 1911 recoil springs

Hi guys, I have a Colt 1911 Govt model, I am looking for a 16 pound recoil spring or a calibration pack. I've called around but come up dry, any local sources?

What?? Wolff is out of springs too?? Finding local is probably very low probability, as it's a high SKU number and low turnover for the inventory, so only a Gunsmith would have them.

I've got one, but it's commander length. Wolff new in sealed plastic. 16# with firing pin spring

I don't think J&S would have them, it seems like they specialize in AR's and "cool" junk. Also I really don't like the guy there, I recommend against buying from them.

J&S is like Gunstop. They may ignore you until you get to know them. They have tons of 1911 parts and ar15 parts.

They're the only place within reasonable distance that I could find a recoil spring plug. It was even a Nighthawk part. That reminds me, I did also buy a Wolff spring from them a while ago but I'll have to dig for it.

I personally dislike (hate) J&S, but they have a large selection of custom 1911 parts on the wall by the front of the right display case. They have Ed Brown and Wilson Combat small parts in all the time.

I agree with tator, I have never had a positive experience with them other than drooling at the expensive stuff they have in their cases. And I still am in something of a boycott to them because of the way they act. Also, I was looking for 1911 guide rods and such parts a little more than a year or so ago and the only thing that I could find they had were a few two piece guide rods and that was about it. It seems like everything there is always $100 more than it is supposed to be. Not trying to hijack the thread, but I just really recommend staying out of there.

I've been to both places many times. Those guys must be related, They act exactly the same. IMHO
I would check J&S. They wont be rude, they don't jump over the counter looking to help you. They wait for you to ask.

I have some springs you could try and if they work you can buy for a discount. 100% know they're WC springs but the weights are between 13-17 lbs. I put together a tuning set of sorts for my steel gun a few years ago and just found all the springs in the same package. :roll:
