Thx! I paid for it last week. Just waiting for the call now. They told me I couldn't shoot it for about a month until the Duracoat cures.

Still think I should get a spiff for all of them I've sold for them. ;)

Checked with Hoffy's today and it hasn't arrived. Hoffy's had a sign on the door stating to the effect that they have no primers, ammo, or powder so don't ask, they don't know when they will have any. The wooden rack in the center of the store was completely empty.

I hope that you have it by now. You will have to let us know how you like it, and pics would be nice.

Nah, I don't have it and they said it would be another 3 weeks. I bet they didn't even start on it until 4-4-13 when they wanted the $ for an order I had placed on 4-12-12.

Yep I'll post photos when I get it, or my son will if I don't live long enough.

BTW you know you're getting old when you look up former co-workers and you find their obituary.

I'm gonna leave Sam all my reloading gear and firearms to disperse as he sees fit. He's in better shape than I am and has a better diet.

That really sucks. Nothing worse than waiting for your new gun.

The Coonan has shipped. Should have it Friday. Only 13 months after I ordered it, but they didn't ask for a penny until April 4 this year. They told me on the phone I should wait a month to fire it so the Duracoat could cure.

Sweet! I'm curious to see what a non-stainless Coonan looks like.

If anybody's got $1375 and wants to irritate rodentman by getting a Coonan before he does, I saw one on the shelf at Frontiersman an hour or two ago.

Got it today. Looks good, will get photos up tomorrow. However, the 6" bbl is on backorder. You'd think after 13 months they'd have one but no. They're not sure if they''ll have them in June or not. I'll suffer through however.

Now I gotta wait a month they say for the Duracoat to cure. At least I have it. That's a start.

I got the stinking Coonan Thursday and I figured I'd take it apart, get familiar with it, clean and lube it etc. Well, usually I can get stuff apart but have trouble getting it back together. This thing I can't even get it apart. I can get the recoil spring out, and didn't even shoot it across the room. The slilde stop? Forget it. I don't know how they got it in, but it aint coming out. You'd think a few gentle taps with a plastic mallet on the pin side would pop it out but it is hung up on the plunger, apparently.

The good news is that The Rodentwoman heard me banging in the basement and thought I was trying to get it on with a gun again, and I was verbally protesting. So she said if I was unsuccessful not to come upstairs with lovin' on my alleged mind. She told me to wait a month and manybe it would be easier. Also good is that I tried some plastic prying tools but no metal, so I didn't mar the stinking Duracoat finish. Maybe I'll just fire the crap out of it and if it loosens up, great. If not, I still can lock the slide back and clean it.

Unless there's some secret to getting the slide stop out. Doesn't seem any different than a 1911. Has a lugless barrel but at this rate I'll never see it.

This is really disappointing. Two grand and I can't even get the slide stop out.

EDITED TO ADD: GOT IT DISASSEMBLED FINE. JUST HAD THE NOTCH MISALIGNED A BIT. EVERYTHING IS ANTISEPTIC NOW!
