Ruger SR22? Ruger Mark III?

Excellent thread. I've been thinking of a .22 pistol for awhile now. Leaning towards the SR22 or M&P 22 (even though I suspect it isn't quite the gun as a Mark III) simply because I can't stand the "buck rogers" look of the Mark III.

If you don't like the way a Mark III looks, that's why they made the Ruger 22/45... and for the 1911 grip style of course.

I have a buddy who is in the market for a m&p22 for his first handgun. Can't find one now that he has his permit. Poor guy.

Edit: he just found one at mills in Brainard for $380. Also scored a brick of 22 for $20 with purchase.
