At first glance, they are pretty much identical, which is confirmed on closer inspection. They both have the same thickness leather and kydex, and are adjustable for retention, cant, and ride height. Now, the differences. First of all, Old Faithful has a larger selection of kydex colors, as I mentioned previously. But, since these holsters are meant for concealed carry, I don't really give a squirt of piss what color they are. As far as price, the Alien Gear wins. I paid $36.83 for it, while the Old Faithful cost me $51.47, and, it came fully assembled, while the OF was a "quick assemble kit." I had to change out the spacers on the AG, but that was no big deal. The OF came with an extra length of spacer material, so you can make different sized ones if none of the pre cut work for you. As far as shipping, AG wins. I ordered the OF on 6/10, and didn't receive it til 7/5. The AG was ordered on 6/18, and I had it in my mailbox on 6/24. Both companies make a nice holster, but I'm going to give Alien Gear the edge, simply based on price, shipping speed, and the fact that there was no assembly required. The next time I need a hybrid iwb holster, I will be ordering from Alien Gear. Hope this helps.

Edit to add: That is a nice piece of German engineering you picked up, I've been wanting to add an H&K to my collection for a long while now. I checked Alien Gear's website, and it appears they have a holster in stock for your pistol.

Thanks for the review! By the way, you can get Old Faithful for the same price with code "tom" that will give you 20% off. Then the only difference will b the emblem, assembly, and the extra wait
Did you just buy that beautiful firearm, or are you trying to sell that piece of crap?

I've had better luck with gun than women. Guns are less likely to kill you in your sleep.

Congrats on the new gun!

I looked at the Old Faithful and Alien Gear holsters, I'm not a big fan of the hybrid style, but I might pick one of them and a shadow holster OWB for the meanwhile. I've also got some leather for making my own. One problem with Shadow Holsters is that they don't have a HK45C mold and noone makes a replica of the C model, only the full size.

I love the hybrid for iwb. Far more comfortable to me. It does take some getting used to having a big piece of leather there, but it spreads the weight and takes away most of the pressure of the gun against one spot feeling.

Love the HK also.

For IWB I'm used to carrying a 1911 in a SGH Hammar. The kydex/leather hybrids I've tried just seem a bit too stiff, and the ivets are a bit irritating. I was thinking of making my own variation on the SGH double snap, but I need to figure out how to do reenforcement...

I think the only way to carry a full size gun comfortably is OWB, but I love my leather/kydex IWB for compacts and sub-compacts.

Just my 2¢ :)

Carrying a full size comfortably isn't an issue for me (I regularly carry a 5" 1911, and occasionally a 3.75" N Frame .357) it's concealing it that's the issue. The HK45C is smaller than my 1911, so it (hopefully) shouldn't be a problem haha.
