Was that ad for real?

I bet the ad agency really took it in the shorts for that one. And the VP of marketing, "samt" his staff, were shown the proverbial road...

Reviewing a few things

#1 Glocks plain flat out work! Time and Time again! They are user serviceable. And, if you need stock factory parts we are fortunate to have Streichers in Plymouth where you can walk out with most stuff you need to get a gun back in action. They are not hard to learn to shoot for the novice gun handler. They are a good value for the money, and they can be had for way less then a 1911 for the most part. The cost point is very affordable and mags are not out of this world.

#2 1911's are in fact better then they used to be from the factory then in the past. But, they still are guns that require TLC spring changes every X# of round. A for most of you that would be a life time of shooting. Most of the fire control parts are not user replaceable at the novice level. They need some hand fitting, and it is easy to wreck a sear and hammer combo..! And, that is can be costly and dangerous to them or others if improperly installed! To me the 1911 is a great platform for a person that actually goes out becomes proficent with maint, shooting, and carrying. Be real that label fits very few of you!

#3 Most of the people on the board are not shooters, they own guns, they keyboard all the time about this or that. Geez just look at the pethora of subjects generated?
People spend far less time shooting then lead on. PERIOD! I love seeing people with their gear at Bill's with every gadget on the freaking gun only to see they can not put rounds on target! They whip out their tricked out AR and gear up. Yet they can not hit the target.!

#4 No matter who you attribute the 4 rules of gun safety to, they are to the point! Referncing Jeff Cooper is just plain giving some credit one of the fathers of modern guncraft!
People insisiting on safety's are foolish people. Man, revolvers were and are carried with out benefit of mechanical safety. The #1 part of safety is the person with the gun! Pretty simple keep the booger hooker off the trigger till you sights on target, and you know the rest of the drill.....but for review.
RULE I: ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

RULE II: NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY

RULE III: KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

RULE IV: BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET

#5 The one thing people should be doing is practice with what you carry. You should have no questions as to function and performance. in other words train with what you fight with! Yeah that is fight with, not some game playing with slicked up 1911...If that is 642 then so be it! If that is SW3906 so be it! If it is Ruger P345 so be it! Get a solid holster not some cheapo one. The point is you have to have confidence in what you are capable of and the platform is capable of. Pretty straight forward!

ET, it's pretty clear that most folks on these boards are way to effin' polite. If I were in need, I'd take the skills of any active forum member here over you any day of the week, and I haven't seen most of them shoot.

The fact is this. You come around here when you want to ruffle some feathers to make yourself feel better. If feeling better is all you need grab some lotion and internet porn like all the other adult sociopaths that live at home with thier parents.

Apparently your last ban didn't get the job done. So, run your mouth some more, please. There are many here that will be happy to see a more permanant correction to such a lasting infection.

If you'd rather be civil that run your mouth off about the members of the forums, just let us all know when you're going to be at the range. Nothing else need be said. We can all then show up and see that you aren't talking out of your infantile arse.

G'day.

I may qualify as a Ninja by some standards. Careful with that one. I think the last time someone actually called me one, there was some mace and a taser involved.....

I'd bet the Agency didn't take it in the shorts for that one. That was the cover of H&K's catalog a few years ago. It had to be approved by HK's VP of Marketing.

Your overuse of excalamation marks is bothersome.
And with the way that you are always complaining about what you see at the range, maybe you should just stop going. You make it sounds like everybody but you is using a tricked out AR with reloaded rounds that since you obviously didn't make them where made by a noob and will probably blow up their gun any second now.

And what is your definition of a shooter? I am a gun owner. I use it to shoot targets of one sort or another. I am a shooter. I do not own my guns as an investement leaving them in a temperature and humidity controlled safe and never get used. I shoot my guns. hence I am a shooter. I am not a collector.
Without deffinitions what you claim/say is bordering on useless.

I don't really care about what anyone has to say on the internet to make themselves feel better - but please come on..... We have some really good people here and yeah some of them can shoot.

I for one cannot shoot - perhaps you could teach me?

You could teach me more than I could teach you. What I said is a statement on needing definitions. Without defining exactly what is meant by 'shooter' he (ET) leaves it open to interpretation which is what I did. I took the term to mean someone who shoots targets with a gun. I made no statement as to skill level, mine or others.

That's sorta what I was referring to.... :D
I don't work at the mall though, rather a family eatery where the locals can be a bit unruly....

OP reminds me of Larry King's column in USA today; a long series of non-sequitors, unrefutable because there's no point to them to begin with.

Seriously, give up. A concerned member of this forum who shall remain nameless   has informed me via PM that going for training at Front Sight, Gunsite, Blackwater, Thunder Ranch etc. is futile, as is getting instruction from other qualified and highly respected instructors on this forum. This member has met graduates of all of these quality operations, and apparently they are not shooters, and are incapable of hitting targets. If you want to be a gunfighter, there is only one place to go.

if the sarcasm isn't present, please le me know. I'll lay it on a little thicker next time.

Are you sure you read it right? Did you ask to get invited for some of his training? Try to get some training before the next steel shoot so you can show us it is suppose to be done.
