The amount of unnecessary and unqualified Dremelling that occurs to guns in the gun community never ceases to amaze me. Take a non-issue and solve it with some good old grinding and compromising of the components instead of just replacing a spring. Yay!!!
Seriously though, don't.

yeah don't dremel anything..

I think the bump the newb was refering too was the bump on gen 4 glocks which is on the trigger bar.. The bump is there to force the trigger bar to ride the center of the safety plunger; it was a design change on Gen 4 guns

If anyone has a Glock that doesn't work, I have a standing offer of $325 for it :D

Just trying to help folks out....

Wait a minute! I've always had the standing offer of $325 and a bag of skittles. I really like the ones that spit brass in my face.

Likely what the OP is experiencing is the mag spring reaching the limit of coil compression with a full ammo load. When you try to seat the mag you are fighting the last bit of spring compression so that's why it takes so much force to seat the full mag. No problem with the gun, it's common with double stack mags.

Not just double-stacks - Just about any mag with a decent spring is gonna require a little more force when filled to capacity...
In fact, if they go in real easy with the slide closed, I'd start thinking about new springs.

Now if you start having problems loading with the slide back - then that's something to look into.

Shooter115, since you mention the extensions in your situation, I'd have to wonder if you might be running into a bit of a tolerance issue with the extensions. If that's hitting the grip, before the mag catch engages, it could be could easily cause that issue - and slamming them in when they don't have any play could potentially cause problems with your catch and/or catch slots on the mags. Mag-empty, slide-locked-back, the mags should slide in and catch with really no effort at all.

I wouldn't advocate dremelling off that nub...

Nope.......there's just a lot of spring tension there. In fact without using a mag loader of some sort I don't know if it would be humanly possible to get that 19th round of .40 in the mag. That's why unless it is some super crazy high round count stage I'll download my 2nd extended mag by 1 round.
