My Taurus 669 has always functions flawlessly and has performed as well or better for me than S&Ws and Ruger GP100s that I have shot. Of course it is an older model so maybe more recent models have lost some quality, dunno, but I only paid $275 for it back in the day and I would pay much more than that today if I had to.

You have one of the early models too? Bought my 669 (6") back in 1989 when I was in the Navy. Paid $200 for it, and have never had a problem with it. I have no idea how many rounds I have through it, but I know for the first six months I had it, I hit the range at least twice a month, and never shot fewer than 200 rounds through it per range session.
