Got it back from Ruger today, although they tried to deliver yesterday. That makes less than a week turnaround including shipping. Paperwork says they replaced magazine disconnect and takedown lever. They indicate they test fired 40rds CCI Mini-Mag with my mags without malfunction. They also included a free Ruger cleaning cloth.

I went ahead and installed the Galloway guide road and captive spring I had ordered before. Hopefully I can make an excuse to get to the range tomorrow and see how it goes. Fingers crossed.

Not to offend, but you should have shot it before adding the galloway and spring. Plus, one change at a time. That way you can isolate the cause of new problems if anything arises. Just saying.

Probably quite true, but it takes about 2 minutes to swap it back out if I have any issues.

FINALLY got a chance to get out and take this to the range. 300 malfunction free rounds. Thanks, Ruger.

Update: Last range trip, had another similar problem. Takedown lever AGAIN came slightly loose and the gun jammed up half apart. Anger ensued.

afterward, on closer inspection I could clearly see a significant chip out of the takedown lever. Did some googling and seems this is not uncommon, since this part acts as a buffer, and is a complaint from more than a few owners. Rather than send it back a second time, I followed the advice of a few others and ordered an upgraded machined polymer takedown level from Twin Tech Tactical for $16 including shipping.

Followed their video instructions and installed myself. Managed to have the slide lock come off and the spring jump out, but thankfully (after reading advice from someone here, I forget who , but thanks!) I had pulled it apart inside a clear plastic bag. I didn't lose anything and only took a few minutes to figure out how it went back together. Only got a chance for about 60 rounds downrange but no problems with mini-mags, golden bullets, or the hotter aguilla inteceptors. I guess time will tell if it holds up.

Not the best picture, but you can see the chipped old lever inside on the left, the aftermarket one on the right seems a bit thicker, and overall just seems much better crafted.

Still a little fuzzy, but you can see the larger sturdier detent in comparison. The biggest improvement from my perspective is that it's MUCH more secure when closed.
