I personally would go with the 1911.

Every Sig Sauer gun I've owned didn't stay in the collection too long...

+1 for 1911. Maybe it is just me but I think Sig has a sharper recoil.
Did you just buy that beautiful firearm, or are you trying to sell that piece of crap?

What do you want this gun for? For spot on accuracy and for competition I'll take my 1911s hands down over all of my Sigs. For any type of personal protection, either in my dresser, or on my hip, without hesitation its a Sig. No safety on a Sig and reliability that you can put your Family's lives on. Two different guns for two different purposes.

As a Sig guy, the fact that it's been reworked and whatnot makes me somewhat nervous... That said, being that it's been back to Sig, I wouldn't worry about its future performance - if it was really as bad as somebody else said it could be internally, they'd have replaced those bits as well.

That said, knowing the exact round count of the 1911 has a certain appeal.

I have to agree with Eric - what do you want it for? Protection, I'd go Sig.

But me, I already have a P220, so I'd go for the 1911... and if you already have a gun you carry (which I assume you do) get the 1911. They're neat!
