Thank you! Now that I got it apart I'll give it the proper D&C treatment and maybe get some sunlight on the Duracoated parts to get that sucker cured. My research indicates some light use would be ok without waiting a full month.

I depreciate the kind comments. Big range trip planned for next Saturday. Need to sight in the 617 and MKIII since I swapped scopes between them. The shorter scope is not on the Ruger allowing me to removed the allen bolt of the 2 part slide stop. Went thru a lot of carpola to get it installed so I want to take advantage of it. The longer scope is now on the 617. I just need to get the zeroed in, or close to it.

Have some test loads of 45 Super, thanks to Sam. I will try those.

And the Coonan - gotta get some rounds thru that. I suppose reloads aren't recommended but I've never seen a handgun mfr that does so. To be expected.

I ordered these zebrawood grips from Collins Wood Crafting. Should look pretty good.

Lookin good, really like the black. Just an FYI mine doesn't and never has run anything less than 158gr bullets.

Its a beauty. Thre slide stop can be a pain in the butt. You just have to play around with it a little and it will come out when its ready to. It doesn't require brute force, just patience and persistence.

It's ready to go tomorrow. Thanks for the tip on the bullet weight. I have a load of 158gr but also some 125gr. If they don't cycle, I've got other .357's.

Really? Mine cycles 125g PMC hollow point ammo perfectly.

Not even hot self defense ammo lighter than 158gr. Mine is an old "B" model though, I don't know why that would matter.
I'm not sure what the recoil spring spec is or if it has changed on new production models.
