GLOCK 42 REVIEW

I shot a new Glock 42 this past weekend ..........

first, many know I am not a glock lover ... 2nd I don't love .380....
This was a nice gun. It fits the hand well, it feels balanced. it fit in my front jeans pocket. Controls were easy to deal operate.

I loaded the mag 6+ and stepped to the line at Target sports in Rogers. Bang I flinched remembering the LCP .... nothing bad ... no pain I jerked the first round low and left ..... I reset myself and gently squeezed the trigger ... bang and an 1" off the mark to the left ... no flinch actually a nice trigger .... handled well shot accurately ... just left 1/2" to 1' to the left at 25 feet. about 75 rounds ..... nice gun ... not nearly the felt recoil of the LCP or other snappy little .380s ...

Thanks for the revue Spartan, I am thinking of getting my wife one of these to become her carry gun. It would also be used occasionaly by myself, if or when she is carrying her S&W 642. She originally wanted the S&W Body Guard in .380 but it was just too snappy. I also got a great deal on the 642.
I'm hoping someone does a revue on the Glock-41 as I am considering it to use as a competition pistol for myself. I love the 45 acp round, so I can qualify in the major class.

Thanks for the review, I'll be waiting until a similar size 9mm version comes out. I'll replace my shield with that.

I got to play with one at keepers a few weeks ago. I really like it. I used my GSSF coupon already this year, so I will wait until next year to get a blue label one. It will replace my POS diamondback .380.

I was with Spartan at the range. He had a quite favorable experience. I too purchased a 42 earlier in the week. By the time we went on Sunday, it was my 3rd range trip with the little glock. I currently have 720 trouble free rounds through mine. It wouldn't run my current SD round, the Barnes xtp-sd cartridge. I ran 4 and they all failed to eject. I ran 20 corbons, perfectly.

The gun is accurate, soft shooting with an excellent trigger and positive reset. I've carried an 85f beretta for 20 years, and other than looks and capacity (8+1), the glocks got it beat. I feel like I'm cheating on my wife. This gun will sell like crazy. I paid $429

For those that think the 9mm will fit this frame, they are wrong. It will have to be a new frame. No way a 9mm cartridge fits into this grip. It will have to be re-engineered. No doubt, that process is underway. Currently, this gun weighs less than 16 ounces, loaded.

I never really minded the LCP for shooting. It'snot nearly as fun as bigger...but I didn't mind it.

When this comes out redesigned for single stack 9, I will look hard at it. As a .380 I don't personally have the need.

I carry Sig 938 in 9mm ... or a Kimber ultra in 45... but this little glock is nice shooting gun. nice pocket gun ... its thin almost as LCP ...

Anybody have a comparison pic with a Kahr P380? I dig Glocks, but this still seems too big for a .380.

Don't have one comparing to the P380, but this was posted in another thread about three weeks ago.
