Revolver for my wife

I personally love the .327 fed. I think the felt recoil is quite nice, and feel the round is very capable. Find it in a Ruger Sp-101 or as a j frame S&W. It is the only modern S&W that i will non let out of my collection.

Once again, I'm hoping to make it to at least a couple, but have to see what things looks like once the snow melts! Had too many other things last year that ended up scheduled for the same weekends as steel shoots!

My wife is just like yours, hates autos and loves revolvers. She recommends one (or actually both) of these a 2 inch 38spl and/or 4-6 inch 357. the wife has both and loves them. the 38 is for carry and "socially inappropriate" situations and the 357 is for serious fun. Hers' are a Rossi 38 2 inch, and a S&W 66 6 inch. The 38 is loaded with some older Nyclad 125's. In the 357 she likes 125 hydrashocks. Let her get what she shoots best. Self-confidence is one of the greatest aids to good shooting there is. That and LOTS of practice.

Have her shoot a J-frame in .38 special. I suspect she'll find it to be an unpleasant experience (I certainly do). My wife is no shrinking violet. She shot my 642 exactly once and said "********". She carries a Walther PPS.

Glock 17 is your answer. She thinks she needs a revolver because she thinks she can't rack the slide. My wife had difficulty racking the Glock , till she learned how to do it properly. Some small semi-autos can be hard to manipulate because they are so small. I'll even donate a OWB holster made for the Glock 17 if she decides to get one.

We have a Glock17SF. You're likely right on racking the slide, but it's an uphill battle here. She's got a limited interest in guns in the first place. Unless she suddenly finds an interest, I need to find a gun that is incredibly simple for her.

I'm disappointed I haven't done anything in the last couple weeks. I know my cabin neighbor has a couple of revolvers that I can borrow. Hopefully we will be up there this weekend and shoot for a brief time.
