How about a 22/45 lite? They have a couple different colors, have a threaded barrel, and are very reliable.

I ordered one last week as a surprise for my wife after attending a gun show. Thought she would like the red or maybe blue, but she spotted a green one and liked it, so that is what I ordered for her.

The 22 45 lite might be the one. I will keep you posted.

I'd stick with a Ruger MKIII, 22/45 or Browning Buckmark for a .22 pistol. They have the proven track record as the most reliable and accurate .22 pistols on the market.

My wife thought the SR22 looked like it might fit the the bill. However, after one pull of the trigger it was completely out of the running. The DA trigger pull must be 12+ pounds, and and when cocked in SA mode it has a very long take up before you get to the 7 pound trigger.

I think 'ours' is 4.5.I can say it runs great and easy to clean and the sights were on out the box :( but I'm about as good at guns as malth and engish, so I cannot tell you about trigger weight and stuff! seems easy and smooth enough? I think it goes well before 3/4s? my mpfour clone has a bunch of slop before it goes like fifty almost. non pink costs less

I have one of the neos too, has a red dot on it for fast shooting fun. I prefer the open sights of the sr22 though

My wife has a SR22 but it's really picky about ammo. Even after we sent it in to Ruger and they put a new barrel. They also sent it back with a note to avoid shooting lead nose ammo . She still likes it but prefers her new Browning 1911-22 over it. I've kept a few tins of Federal Champion set aside for when she shoots it.

I had a Neos, don't recommend it. First 22 pistol I ever bought and one of the few guns I've sold. Reliability was terrible. I could only get about 100-150 rounds through it in a range trip before it would start to stovepipe. The MKIII I replaced it with is far more reliable.

Can someone tell me the difference between the Ruger 22/45 models 3908 and 3912? Other than color, they look a bit different on the side, but I can't see anything on the specs that show any difference.

From what I remember, the green 3912 has horizontal cuts on the upper, whereas the blue 3908, red 3910 and black upper/"muddy girl" camo lower 3909 have vertical cut outs. Otherwise, I think they are the same.
