I purchased a .45c from ThunderJohn at Southwest and it was the best price with the best service that I could find.

What's wrong with carrying a 1911?

At least give him a link :D

It's a nice little shop and his prices are good. Though $499 for the M&P I think is pretty good. I would say 80% of the time though Cabela's and Gander's sale prices are still above independent local shops. I don't go to Joe's much but every time I've been there I have not been too impressed with their prices.

Joes has consistently shown as the best pricing on gun genie for the Ruger American Rimfire I've been fantasizing about.

Joe's has it for $529 right now. Cabela's regular price is $549.

Put my 25% down at Cabela's. Just have to wait for the permit then drop the rest of the coin on them.

Nothing wrong with carrying a 1911. For a decent one they are a bit pricier than the M&P 45C. Maybe in the future.

I have some points with Cabela's to mitigate the price and the purchase itself will give me some points.

Absolutely nothing for those that:
-drink tequila
-smoke cigars
-have two balls (or ovaries)
and don't:
-live in their mothers basement
-use hand sanitizer every-time they touch anything
-and don't get confused about which bathroom to use...................

I would second the thought of going through ThunderJohn. It's great to support local businesses, that benefit not only our second amendment rights, but we should always take care of our own first. Just my 2¢..

That right there is what I hear all the time with people buying guns at Cabela's. The only reason they buy guns there is because they have a Cabela's card with points to drop the cost. Willing to bet most people would be better off if they had a normal card that provided them 1% (or more) cash back and bought their guns for cheaper elsewhere.

Cabelas has price matched for me in the past. They even price matched an XDm (had just come out) with sportsmans warehouse when they were having their going out of business sales. Also helped I had the spend $500 get $150 gift card deal.

Does someone with 2 balls really need to be this politically correct? Doesn't exactly seem very "John Wayne" -like... :cogitating:

That is what I noticed too. Joe's is very competitive to do a purchase through Davidson's website but their in store/in stock prices are similar to Gander :)

Even John Wayne was considerate on rare occasions..........
There are a few women around that I respect for their attitudes and abilities - and they happen to carry a 1911.....

-drink tequila: I do not drink (lots of coffee thought)
-smoke cigars: don't smoke. Little known fact. A "celebratory cigar" does not rate you as a smoker for life insurance.
-have two balls (or ovaries): last time I checked I had both balls
and don't:
-live in their mothers basement: Own my house. Mom and dad are passed on to their great reward
-use hand sanitizer every-time they touch anything: I am not a germaphobe (having military experience, hunting and fishing it is hard to keep germ free)
-and don't get confused about which bathroom to use...................: I can use whichever I feel like on a given day. Obama said it was OK. The ladies room at Target is very nice.

Do I pass the test or am I forever relegated to my neutered S&W M&P 45C?

I was stating he shot a 1911 a lot. If he's used to it why would you go with a different gun.... Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Just be careful, as the last time I stopped in for one I left with two.
