80% Glock lowers?

Postby goalie on Tue Feb 20, 2018 8:15 pm

Anyone have experience with them? I have an extra barrel, since I needed a threaded one for my G17, and think it would be fun to try.

Brownells seems to have a lot on sale, including their own stripped slides.

I brought it up 2 years ago... you aren't going to be saving much, if any, money. It's neat, you can say "I built that."

Well, 109 for the frame, I have a barrel, 170 for a Brownells slide, and another 125 at Brownells for the parts I didn't already have.

Cheaper than a new one, and no extra barrel when I'm done.

May as well give 'er a whirl

Does 80% mean no FFL involved, no serial numbers?

They are $160 on the manufacturer's website, either way you're maybe saving the cost of a barrel vs buying new. I say go for it if you're already ~$100 deep into it. Especially since it won't be your first Glock and I'm sure you already have some "Glock-brand Glock Glock Glockazines" to fit the lower.

If you don't want to go that route, I might buy that barrel from you if it's a factory G17 barrel.

To late.

I'm diving in. It'll be fun to be shooting through a legal can with a no-logo, no serial number legal handgun

80% Glock lowers?

Have been watching some YouTube videos about 80% glock lowers. Looks super easy and fun. But yeah, when I priced out parts to build, it’s certainly not any cheaper than buying a new glock 19. Probably would cost more actually. But would be fun. I guess if I came across a good deal on a clean used glock 19 gen 3 takeoff slide and barrel, I’d definitely look at doing it but can’t see buying all new parts to build from scratch.
