I needed some slide work done on a Springfield, so sent it to Dave Salyer- cost me $180 for shipping fees! That's a third of what Dave's fees were. So I'm thinking there's got to be somebody local that's doing accurizing work on 1911s, isn't there?

If you send a firearm not thru an FFL (who sends them UPS Ground) for $20-$25+shipping and take days. The consumer can send a firearm themselves, but MUST do so overnight directly to the recipient FFL. UPS from here to SC was $100 via UPS but $80+ via FedEx. One way there, one way back = $180.
