What is wrong with plums?

I’ve heard that some Baer guns do that...

Mine haven’t but I suppose they are not of the right vintage.

I have seen a number of older rifles where the bluing goes to a different color over time. They usually call it patina, but it’s an artifact of how the bluing was done.

I'll let others sing the praises of which high end 1911 is best. Personally, I have a soft spot for the old series 70 colts, and I own one of the last ones made. It's been my companion for almost 3 decades and my EDC for almost 2.

As to sights, I use a simple set of 3 dot combat sights and have never felt the need for anything fancier.

As for triggers, length is going to depend on the size of your hands. I have a long trigger for my large hands. For trigger weight on a carry piece, I wouldn't go any go any lighter than 6lbs.
