Not so worried about law but more about various “policies.” There are some places where it’s not necessarily illegal to carry but where the consequences are steep if you’re violating a policy.

Summer go-to carry

Postby INOR on Fri Aug 17, 2018 5:28 pm

Just picked up a LCP ii at BPR this evening. They were on sale from PSA for $219.99 so decided to get one. Put 100 rounds through it right away. Wow. What a difference! It’s not at all unpleasant to shoot. Trigger is actually pretty good and the little thing is reasonably accurate and consistent for a little mouse gun. The old LCP is going back to the little Keltec style clip and will be a designated boot gun from now on. This newer one is way, way better.

I’ve not shot the new one but I had played with them and the trigger is light years better. Good to hear it’s more pleasant to shoot.

This. S&W M&P 40 or Springfield XD40 both 4" models. A Sideguard tuckable IWB holster with good leather belt and a bloused Columbia fishing shirt hides the gun very well.

The rare times I need something smaller a Kahr CW9 fits the bill.

Reviving this since IT'S HOT outside and this is always a useful conversation.

I have been pocket carrying the 642 in a Remora pocket holster that gets pretty sweaty. I am usually trying to go as light as possible so it seems pocket is the only choice for cargo shorts and tee shirts.

Does anyone make a "tight" to the body paddle owb holster or a iwb paddle that can stay cool? Is it a good idea to put "moleskin" or similar on the back of the paddle to make it cooler.

I like paddles because they can be removed easily.

Summer go-to carry

Postby gun_fan111v2 on Tue Jun 30, 2020 7:06 pm

I’ve been eyeing this holster https://clingerholsters.com/product/gear-holster/.

My normal carry is their Stingray V1 which I modified to have a 25 degree cant. I don’t know about “cool” but I don’t feel a heat spot where it is. Plus kydex can be wiped down easily.

Summer go-to carry

G19 or S&W 2.0 4" compact.

I'm not ok with low capacity at this time. AIWB with JMCK works fine for me in shorts and a t-shirt. If you're "larger," well, there's always open carry or a fanny pack......

XD single stack (3.3 I think) in a sideguard appendix or an lcp in a pocket. Spare mag or two in cargo pants pocket.

SAR K2 45 when I get the sights fixed at Ahlmans. Looking at a MASC IWB holster for it. Either that or my Keltec PLR in a violin case....... :D Can't be too careful..

Actually,I started to carry my G26 rather than the JFrame. I have a G36 also, so that may come out of the safe to sub out the G26. IWB holster - not as comfortable, but .....compromises.........
