That's an intriguing question, coming from someone who claims to be an instructor, with a website featuring a woman's only class, and a female instructor that not only shares the last name of the only guy listed - named 'Pete', but is also listed as co-owner of the training business...

Sorry folks, I've been busy. Thank you for all your responses. I've been a Semi-auto guy my whole life, started with the Beretta 92 FS after the Navy, landed on the S&W M&P as my consistent carry firearm. Not sure why, always wanted a revolver. Maybe it's because of Clint Eastwood movies, I dunno. The grip will take some getting used to. But I was looking at the S&W R8 because I like the capacity, the look of the gun, generally. Apparently it was made to be a SWAT revolver, so I presume it is made well and sturdy.

My questions are:
Any known issues with firing pin breaking (assuming I don't dry fire the gun).
Does anyone have any experience with the gun and have had any issues?
Any parts break easily?
Is maintenance straight forward?
Any recommendations on oil?
Any trigger issues?

I suppose YouTube is a good place to review any gun.

Any modern centerfire revolver you can’t fry fire should not be considered. Maintenance on any revolver is very straight forward.

I have one I like it, you can dry fire it all day not and nothing will happen to it. It's a modern firearm is parts are plentiful and it's a revolver so it's kind of primitive and will probably always be legal. I got mine used and noticed the hammer was hitting the frame sent it in and got it fixed..

Trigger sucks just like all post 88 Smith revolvers.
Over priced if you ask me new they got for over 1300+
It's a big revolver not exactly practical for concealed carry
Accuracy is on you the shooter
If ruger made an 8 shot I'd have that instead..
