Okay, picked it up from Gun Stop Friday:

Lawdy, I've gotten spoiled by polymer frames; That's one hunk o' steel! No need to worry about running out of ammo, you can always crack their skull with it.

That’s nice!

All my .41’s are stainless.

I need to find a blued one one of these days- nothing says character like an honestly worn bluing!

New gun day? Always a good day!
I missed out on a great deal on an S&W N-Frame (IMHO the NICEST/CLASSIST guns S&W makes) in 1978 and still remember it and still regret it. Glad you got yours. (Mine was a .357 but N-Frames in all calibers are really nice.)

P.S. THIS might get a flame war going but I consider the blued S&W N-Frames to be on par with the Colt Python. And I consider the Python to be a great, top tier handgun too.

A Tanfoglio in .41 AE would be a properly, eccentric choice in .41! ;) 8-)

A WHOLE YEAR LATER...

Okay, after surgery in April and a truly miserable summer recovering from a medicine reaction, I finally ordered some .41 Mag ammo to put into my wheel gun. Now I could really use a mentor to help me break it in: it still has the factory grease you're supposed to clean off, and it has adjustable sights that may need zeroing which I've never done before. I can meet anyone anywhere any time who'd be willing to help me out to make sure I'm doing everything right.

When you're ready,

I have RCBS dies and projectiles, and various powders to use. Save your cases, I have primers also. I will have to look to see what brass I still have.

I had a Ruger Blackhawk in 41 Magnum which I sold to a friend who used it for bear hunting, then sold it but not back to me as originally agreed.

I’ve read in an old reloading manual, the .41 is “less than useless”. :)

That said, I had a Ruger Redhawk in .41 in the late 90s. Great gun, and lots of fun. But back then ammo was 60 cents a round and I got tired of paying that as I didn’t reload at the time.

What manual is that?

Its essentially identical to the .44 mag except for really heavy cast bullets.
