Whenever you shoot you look like you are ready to deploy to Iraq. :P

But in all black not desert tan. And it helps if you ask everyone to refer to you as "Operator", "Ranger Rick", or "justaguy".

And say things like "high-speed, low-drag" and any military acronym you can think of.... wear cool sunglasses.

Wear a thigh rig. That's the only allowable holster for a steel shoot.

I guess I'm going to have to go more tactical because I wasn't intimating enough at the last IDPA match to scare you into letting me bet you.........

In all seriousness, I don't know anything about the timer, but I'll try to educate myself on that before I show up. I think I can draw and reholster safely, but I will take a refresher on the rules anytime. ET put me on Jerry miculek's website for some helpful visuals. Is there any more video material us noobs should be watching.

Benny and China do take the time before the start to do a review of drawing from the holster and all you need to do is listen to their suggestions.

For shooters not use to shooting against the timer it can be intimidating at first, it gets the adrenaline running. After a couple of strings of fire you will start to calm down and really have fun. Also you really need to listen to the range commands being given by the Range Officer when your on the firing line.

As far as shooting ability there is Benny, China, Keith, David, Pinnacle, Fast351, plus a few others and then there is the rest of us. It really doesn't matter at the end of the day where you fall in the line up, you will have a good time.

A timer is a handy tool that will give you a beep at random which tells you to draw, and then records the time from the beep to your last shot. Very handy and can be operated by the shooter alone, without the need for a range buddy. I would bet that Westberg has a selection of reasonably priced timers..... if not I'd bet he can get them.

And seriously get a thigh rig. Nobody allowed in without a thigh rig and a railed pistol equipped with a bayonet.
If you're reading this, there are better than even odds you are a d-bag.

Who says I don't have a thighrig already? That is just one of those things any guy buys but that ends up under the bed next to the dumbells and the French maid outfit.
